Jesus Wept:Hope For Eternal Life Tops Grief
This is a close approximation of a homily I delivered on the weekend of April 1-2 at St Luke the Evangelist Church in Slidell. The scripture readings for the 5th Sunday of Lent Year A on which is based can be found by clicking here.
One definition of grief is: The normal process of reacting to a loss. The loss may be physical, social, or occupational. Emotional reactions of grief can include anger, guilt, anxiety, sadness, and despair.
It’s easy to understand the concept of grief, that our lives are different after someone we love dies. A loss like that of a child or spouse is an event you never forget and likely never completely get past.
But let’s say that I go from being healthy and active to being chronically ill and limited.
